Students to learn the healthy benefits of drinking water, and how vitamins, minerals, and proteins can benefit our bodies.
WORKSHOP - 2
Fats and Cholesterol
Objectives:
Students to learn about the four dietary fats, foods packed with healthy fats, and LDL & HDL cholesterol.
WORKSHOP - 3
Sodium – High Blood Pressure
Objectives:
Students to learn about sodium, low sodium foods, high blood pressure, and the 13 foods that help lower high blood pressure.
WORKSHOP - 4
Added Sugars – Diabetes
Objectives:
Students to learn about sugars, the Glycemic Index, overweight and Obesity, and Diabetes
WORKSHOP - 5
Portion Control – Nutritional Labels
Objectives:
Students to learn about portion control, the Andi Score, the Dirty Dozen, The Clean 15, Anti-inflammatory foods, and how to read and understand nutritional labels
OPTIONAL:
Nutritarian Competition
Objectives:
Students to create a healthy recipe based on a highlighted ingredient, apply lessons learned and present it to a panel of judges.
